We're increasing our security

In the coming days, we’re introducing some enhancements to our online security.

When you Log on we may ask you to create a password, if you haven’t created one.

Important note for creating a password

For added security, you will be asked to generate a re-authentication code on your security device. After entering your PIN, you need to press 3 to generate this code. Once the password is created, you can continue to bank online using your newly created password.

Here’s the steps how you can create your password

1.     Log on to Personal Internet Banking

2.     Enter your username / internet banking ID

3.     Enter your security code and log on

4.     The system will then prompt you to create a new password

Frequently asked questions

I’m an existing Personal Internet Banking customer and logon with security device code, why do I have to reset my logon password?

HSBC is committed to ensuring your safety when banking with us online, so we’ve strengthened our online security measures by requiring existing Internet Banking users to reset their logon passwords.
