Guidance on e-mandate rules

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has updated its guidelines for recurring online transactions. If you have an HSBC credit card, you now have even stronger security features when you set up online mandates for scheduled subscriptions or recurring payments. These changes are effective from 1 October 2021.

You can go to the HSBC MandateHQ portal to manage all your existing subscriptions and recurring mandates made with your HSBC credit card. Here's how:

  1. Sign up on https://hsbc.mandatehq.com using your mobile number & email
  2. Register your credit card on the portal. We will link all the recurring e-mandate transactions registered on your card so you can see them all in one place
  3. Start managing your recurring mandates anytime, anywhere
Here are some of the new safety measures taken as a part of the RBI guidelines:

Registration and first debit transaction

Registration and first debit will require OTP authentication

from your registered mobile number.

Recurring transactions (subsequent debits)
You'll receive an SMS notification 24 hours before your scheduled debit. You do not have to authorize the debit, but you can choose to pause, resume or cancel it by logging on to the HSBC MandateHQ portal at https://hsbc.mandatehq.com and providing an OTP.
